In the mountains overlooking Mexico City, you will find the mystical Boxque Teva retreat in the beautiful forests on the edge of Desierto De Los Leones National Park.
The name Boxque Teva originates from the Spanish word for forest with an X added to mark the spot “Boxque” and “Teva”, the Hebrew word for nature.
It was started in 2021 by a couple Jackie and Santiago from Mexico City who shared a philosophy of “Vibra Bien” spreading good vibes and they decided to use this magical space for retreats and group events.
The incredible property and buildings were designed my wizard-like Mexican architect Guillermo Siliceo who has done a series of nature-inspired architecture projects in the area including Casa Del Arbol.
If you’re looking to unplug from your busy life and tune into the stillness of nature, Boque Teva offers a rather unique retreat space for personal growth that combines ancient mysticism with nature connection. Less than an hour from downtown Mexico City, it offers a refuge from the chaos of the city landscape and a peaceful escape for mindful relaxation in the forest.
Guests at Boxque Teva can enjoy various activities, including guided retreats, team-building exercises, and spiritual workshops. Their programs are tailored to nurture the mind, body and spirit.
They also offer day passes on weekends, which allow visitors to explore walking trails, meditation spaces, and the tranquil surroundings. If you’re looking for a nature retreat near Mexico, Boxque Teva offers a unique sanctuary to feel deep connections with the natural world.

6 months agoSpent the long weekend here and will absolutely come back. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The space is amazing and relaxing. It doesn’t matter if you are into adventure and sports or would rather read a book by a chimney, this place has it all. The food was spectacular! I couldn’t get enough. I visited Bosqueteva with my partner and dog and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.

2 years agoMy absolute favorite place in Mexico City. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes nature, magic, or finding an off the beaten path gem. The architecture is nothing short of art & you will feel like you stepped into a fairy tale. The staff & couple who runs the property are super nice, generous, interesting people. They were really available for questions & my stay was very comfortable because they helped me with what I needed, even picking something up at the store for me to save me the taxi ride. I met some really cool guests because they do such a good job with group activities, like yoga & night time games or fires. Definitely check out the hiking trails - even the walk down the road was lovely, including an abandoned Italian villa. The food was So Good! So good. It was lovely to have every meal prepared & I really enjoyed what was served. The dining room, like all the rooms, was beautiful. The attention to detail in the meals, as well as the decor and landscaping really stand out from other accommodations. Truly a once in a lifetime experience- especially the hot tub at night! . Even after 3 months I wanted to loop back & write this review because this incredible property and the dedicated couple that run it deserve a shout out! And ask them the story about the artist who built it. You will be so happy you made the trip out.
