Amate Camp has taught me so much. It has become a second home and my spiritual family. The place is magical and built for Sadhana (spiritual practices) I cannot recommend more to visit and stay as long as possible. Best food ever!

Lovely place. Very tranquil and peaceful. Lovely Mountain views. Ideal for a weekend relaxation. They have a good variety of workshops and events. They have rooms on site and a pool. A good vegan kitchen and the common areas are lovely. A bit tricky to get there as the road is not paved.

Absolutely loved it. The place is kept with the most sacred energy, protected by the mountains. The yoga shala offers best views of Tepozteco mountains. The food is delicious, vegan, healthy. The family - owners are one of the best peole I have ever met. Thank you for helping me shine brighter ✨

This place only looks nice on pictures. This review is only for Amate Camp (not for the hosts of the retreat, they are amazing). It says it has facilities for Yoga, but in the Shala are no blocks, no straps and only old yoga mats (like they have collected the ones people left there). So it is impossible to do a proper Yin Yoga session, you have to improvise a lot. Food is twice per day, we stayed 8 days and the variety was not very big. I missed something as a tea snack in between, something healthy like banana bread or similar. I got very hungry in between and it was forbidden to bring food from outside into the camp. They only show the nice rooms on google and instagram, but double rooms (that are even more expensive) are tipis, it’s super cold at night in January and you feel like you are sleeping in the home of spiders and scorpios. I spent a lot of time in different locations in remote jungle places, but i never felt so uncomfortable and was sleeping so close to them. No mirrors in the bathrooms. Very bad communication regarding activity - we had to wait super long until the ice for the ice bath arrived. But there was no clear communication that it will take longer. They distracted us with an improvised ecstatic dance but were super distracted and unattentive - already during the WIM HOF breathing session. All 18 people got stomach sick on the last day (i will spare details, but it was really bad). No doctor could come because the location „was too remote“ - walking distance to the town is 20min and during the week a lot of different people could come who wanted to sell their offerings. I have been to a lot of places and a lot of retreats, but that’s the first time I got home sick and wanted to leave earlier.
